GST / Tax FAQ (For Indian Clients)

This FAQ explains how GST, taxes, and invoicing work for Indian advertisers using Threasury.

Please read this carefully to avoid confusion during billing, refunds, or accounting reconciliation.

1. Do you charge GST on top-ups?

Yes.

GST is charged on all wallet top-ups made through Indian payment methods (Bank Transfer / UPI / INR payments).

  • GST rate: 18%
  • This GST will appear on your invoice and is eligible for Input Tax Credit (ITC) if your business is GST-registered.

2. Can I claim ITC (Input Tax Credit) on GST charged?

Yes, if:

  • Your business has a valid GSTIN
  • Your GSTIN was correctly submitted during onboarding
  • Your business name matches the payment source

If these conditions are met, you can claim ITC on the GST amount paid.

3. Will I get a GST invoice?

Yes.

Threasury provides GST-compliant invoices every time you top up your wallet using INR payment methods.

Invoices include:

  • GSTIN (yours + ours)
  • Tax breakup
  • Amount paid
  • Wallet credit added

Invoices are available in your Transactions section.

4. Is GST not charged when I use USD or other currency ad accounts?

Because GST only applies to Indian domestic transactions.

If you operate exclusively with:

  • Different currency ad accounts
  • Crypto payments
  • Stripe card payments in foreign currency

…then GST is not applicable.

Using foreign-currency ad accounts is beneficial for dropshipping in international markets and avoids GST on top-ups.

5. Is GST charged on Threasury fees?

Yes.

Any fee charged by Threasury (e.g., % fee on ad spend for INR users) is considered a service, and GST applies to it.

If you are on:

  • INR accounts → GST applicable on fees
  • USD/EUR/GBP/AUD accounts → GST not applicable on fees

6. Will my ad account show GST charges?

No.

GST is charged only by Threasury directly

Your ad account will show:

  • Ad spend

But not Indian GST, since that is paid during wallet top-ups.

7. Can we deduct TDS on payments

Yes if discussed with finance team.

TDS apply to wallet top-ups directly and needs. to be deducted at the time of payment.

8. Why is my wallet showing less credit than the amount I paid?

The most common reasons:

  1. GST deducted → Only the base amount is added to wallet
  2. Payment gateway fees (if using Stripe / Razorpay)

Example

Case - (0%fees) -:

Top-up ₹10,000 → GST ₹1,800 (18%)

You pay ₹11,800 → Wallet gets ₹10,000

Case - (4%fees) -:

Top-up ₹20,000 → Fee ₹800 (4%) → GST ₹3,744 (18% of ₹20,800)

You pay ₹24,544 → Wallet gets ₹20,000

9. Can GST be refunded?

No.

GST collected is paid to the Government of India and cannot be refunded by us.

Even if:

  • You stop using the platform
  • You withdraw remaining wallet funds
  • Your account is closed

GST already paid remains non-refundable.

11. What if my GSTIN was incorrect during onboarding or raising wallet requests?

If you provided an incorrect GSTIN:

  • GST invoices will be generated under that wrong GSTIN
  • ITC cannot be claimed
  • Old invoices cannot be reissued as per GST laws
  • We can update your GSTIN for future transactions only

Always double-check GSTIN during onboarding.

Summary

Here’s a quick snapshot:

  • GST is charged only on INR payments → 18%
  • Foreign currency accounts → No GST even if you're from India
  • GST invoices available inside dashboard
  • GST cannot be refunded
  • ITC can be claimed with a valid GSTIN
